A Successful Camp According to God’s Plan
Begins With the Heart of Volunteers

Forgiven Ministry would not be possible without the dedication and selflessness of our volunteers. We believe that each volunteer has a unique gift and calling to serve within our organization, and we are grateful for their commitment to our mission. Through their time, talents, and service, our volunteers help us to make a positive impact in the lives of those we serve. If you are interested in becoming a part of our volunteer team, we invite you to explore our website and learn more about the opportunities available.  No matter where you are located in the country, Forgiven Ministry has volunteer opportunities across the country.

Volunteers: The Backbone of
ODWG Camps

Forgiven Ministry Volunteers are the backbone of One Day With God camps, playing an essential role in ensuring their success. These camps offer a transformative experience for children and families of incarcerated individuals, made possible by the tireless efforts of our volunteers. From organizing activities and assisting with registrations, to mentoring, supporting the food team, and providing emotional support, volunteers make a significant impact. Their dedication and commitment are truly invaluable.

Making a Difference

The impact of crime can be far-reaching, affecting not only the individual but also their loved ones. That’s why we work tirelessly to meet the spiritual, physical, and emotional needs of those who have been affected by crime.  Our mission is to heal the wounds inflicted by crime, redirect lives, and restore individuals into the community as productive citizens, parents, and family members. And we can’t do it alone.

Caregiver Volunteer

While the children are at the facility with their inmate parent, the guardians of the children attend a day of hope that teaches that God has a plan for their life and also that reconciliation is part of that plan.  The program is structured and facilitated by a trained leader.  The day includes prayer, praise songs, testimonies, lunch, craft, group sharing, viewing a video from the day’s event at the prison and a forgiven ceremony at which time the gospel is shared.  These families find fellowship one with another and most of all find the unconditional love from Christ through the volunteers that minister at the caregivers event.

Volunteer Testimonies

At the end of 2003 or the beginning of 2004, I remember hearing about a ministry that united children with their inmate parents; inside the prison! Before the sun set that day, I talked to Founder Scottie Barnes and made plans to attend one of their powerful “One Day with God” camps for inmates and their children. It has been eighteen years since that day, and I have been blessed hundreds of times to participate with them in their  ODWG camps in CO, SC, TX and MI. Unique, powerful, and anointed, I never tire of seeing the children and their parents reconciled and their relationships restored as they experience forgiveness. God Bless Forgiven Ministry and thanks for all the joy, tears and fond memories Patti and I have had through the years!

One Day With God Camp Volunteering at a One Day with God camp is an unforgettable blessing! To be able to witness God move and work in so many hearts and lives is amazing. We see salvations, forgiveness, overflowing love, and excitement in the eyes of children, inmates, officers and volunteers. It’s a lot of work, but we all leave with full hearts and a lot of memories. These camps have changed my life and I look forward to serving many more years with this ministry!
