Everyone knows that Texans understand BBQ! Hats off to Tom Patterson and his pork roasting team in Texas! They went above and beyond, securing a whopping 276 pounds of pork butts, 100 pounds of sausage, 100 pounds of potato salad, 60 pounds of beans, 48 loaves of bread, and 5 gallons of BBQ sauce. Thanks to their tireless efforts, the folks at Cibolocreek Church in Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas, prepared over 300 plates of delicious barbecue. Best of all, every single plate served, along with individual donations, made a difference, raising a total of $8,012 for Forgiven Ministry.
This kind of out-of-the-box thinking is just one of the ways we keep the mission alive and growing. Tom and the Cibolocreek family remind us of the power of community and creativity in supporting our work. Their passion and dedication don’t just fill plates—they fill hearts, giving people a tangible way to contribute to life-changing ministry.
Feeling inspired? Maybe it’s time to fire up your own BBQ cookoff! Whether you’re in Texas or across the country, who will be the next team to step up and take on the challenge? Let’s see who can top this incredible effort and help expand Forgiven Ministry’s impact even further. Together, we can make a difference—one plate at a time.
Many thanks to Tom, the Cibolocreek Church and the amazing Texas team!
What is amazing that a bunch of Texans BBQ’d pork. This is primarily a brisket state! We now extend the challenge to any church or group of people out there that want to accept the challenge to BBQ for Jesus! God can use your cooking skills!
