We arrived at McConnell Unit Thursday afternoon and unloaded, no issues, everyone made it on time and intact. Normally by now, the enemy has come against us physically, logistically or attacked someone on the Texas Team. We just get used to being attacked spiritually, and say, “It’s camp week!”
The only issue at the Prison was the statue of Molek like we see in 1Sam 5:1-4, they had this evil pumpkin headed statue, about 16′ tall and evil looking long fingered hands, wicked.
We recognized what it was and called Scottie and sent her a picture. She said it was the enemy staking his claim over this facility. We prayed it would fall down like Molek.
Friday morning the statue was still there, we went in and poured our hearts out to those men in the Godly Dads seminar and Friday evening it was still there.
Saturday morning it was gone and I was thankful for answered prayers! The first couple hours in the morning Saturday, we spend with the guys, getting on tee shirts, having some prayer and encouragement and sharing time, where the men gather in a circle and share what’s on their hearts.
One of the men Joe, said that he wanted everyone to know that the Holy Spirit had him and six others fast and pray for SEVEN days before this camp! They broke the fast Friday morning.
I realized at that point why the usual attacks of the enemy never materialized, because seven men used the tools God has given us and our camp went off without a hitch!
Joe, Cody, Lil Johnny, Short Dog, Andrew, Arellano and JC. Seven men in TDCJ McConnell Unit, serving time for crimes they committed, fasted Seven days, they prayed for the camp, the volunteers, the prison staff, the kids and care givers. They had only water and coffee for seven days. They accessed the Throne Room on our behalf, and we all reaped the benefits!
What a mighty God we serve and what a reminder for us to use the tools He has given us for Spiritual warfare!
