At Forgiven Ministry’s One Day with God Camps, we witness countless stories of transformation and renewed hope. These camps offer children the opportunity to spend a day with their incarcerated fathers, fostering bonds that have often been strained by separation. The impact of these moments is profound, and the stories we hear reinforce the importance of our mission.
In our recent camp, during Share Time, three young participants expressed that it was the best day of their lives. Such heartfelt affirmations highlight the transformative power of these camps.
We are humbled and inspired by the letters we receive from the inmates, and today, we want to share one that particularly moved us. Written last year, it is a testament to the healing and life-changing experiences that our One Day With God Camps bring to families.
“Dear Forgiven Ministry,
My name is Christpher. I’m writing to thank you all again for the One Day With God Camp. It has been years since I’ve been able to see my daughter face to face, to hold her in my arms. Today, at the One Day With God Camp I was shown by our Lord (I can say that now b/c He is my Lord now) through your ministry and the love I got to see in the eyes of my daughter that I am worth something, I’m loved by many, and God has not left me behind! That I will hold in my heart always.
Your ministry has blessed me! I never in all my 16 years in prison dreamed I would be able to dance with my daughter! That was awesome, but the best part was being able to look her in her eyes and tell her ‘I love you, I’m proud of you, you’re a wonderful daughter.’ And then for me; a mess of a man to pray from my heart for and over my daughter!
So once again, my thanks to Forgiven Ministry, Mrs. Scottie and all the staff / helpers. Through the Lord God you’ve blessed this father and daughter! Thank you.
Love Always, your new brother in Christ,
Christopher
One Day With God Saved my life!”
Wow, what a powerful testimony. It’s amazing to hear and see how God works in our camps. Stories like Christopher’s remind us why we do what we do. Let’s continue fostering reconciliation and uplifting others for the glory of our Lord.
You are loved,
Les
This is amazing and wonderful. To have a life touched by our Heavenly Father. To have hope and forgiveness enter into a heart. To give a father a reason to go on, and to give a daughter her father’s love and blessing is far more than anyone can give. This is from our Lord and Savior. This is a miracle. Gos bless all of you at Forgiven Ministry and all who volunteer.
Wonderful work of God & a beautiful testimony.
